The continuous and cyclic tensile strain induced different gene expression in HPL cells. The expressions of inflammatory and osteogenic genes with the application of continuous and cyclic tensile strain at strengths of 15% in HPL cells were examined by real-time RT-PCR. Gene expression was calibrated using the GAPDH housekeeping gene, and values indicating the fold-change from control are shown. The expression of IL-6 mRNA is shown.
