All intakes were energy adjusted. Model 1 (n = 3987) was adjusted for matching variables (age, sex, and area of residence). Model 2 (n = 3813) was adjusted as for model 1 and for waist-to-hip ratio, alcohol consumption, current smoking status, aspirin use, physical activity, family history of myocardial infarction, history of diabetes, history of hypertension, history of hypercholesterolemia, and genetic admixture.
