The N-terminal region of 53BP1 is a disordered region containing multiple ATM phosphorylation sites, while the C-terminal half contains the following domains: LC8 (dynein light chain 8) binding, oligomerization, GAR (glycine-and-arginine rich), tandem Tudor (recognizes methylated residues), UDR (ubiquitination-dependent recruitment), NLS (nuclear localization signal), tandem BRCT. USP28 contains the domains: UBA (ubiquitin-associated), UIM (ubiquitin-interaction motif), UCH (ubiquitin carboxyhydroxylase).
