These kinematics were obtained during weight-bearing knee extension. The black dots are values measured using kinematic MRI of subjects in a prone posture (31). a: Relationship between knee flexion angle and lateral translation of the patella relative to the femur (bisect offset). b: Relationship between knee flexion angle and patellar tilt. The values obtained in this study are within 1 SD of these previously reported kinematics for all knee flexion angles, except for patellar tilt at 36°.
