Following an inquiry from the journal Molecular Systems Biology regarding the presentation of data in Fig 7A, the authors and the journal have examined this figure and the original data upon which it was based. The authors wish to withdraw Fig 7A and the related conclusions in the paper, based on the fact that the data were altered inappropriately. As a consequence, the specific conclusions stating that ERβ exerts an effect on MAPK signaling cannot be supported by these data. No other panels or figures are withdrawn, and all of the other data and conclusions in the paper remain unchanged, including the title and abstract of the study.
