FIG 2

Leukocytes and proinflammatory cytokines are elevated in the blood of WNV-infected Ccr7−/− mice. (A to H) Following forward scatter/side scatter and UV-negative gating for live cells, total cell numbers of CD8+ T cells (CD3+ CD8+), CD4+ T cells (CD3+ CD4+), monocytes (Ly6Chi CD11b+), neutrophils (Ly6Cint CD11b+ Ly6G+), NK cells (NK1.1+ CD3), B cells (CD19+), activated CD8+ T cells (CD3+ CD8+ CD44+), and activated CD4+ T cells (CD3+ CD4+ CD44+) were assessed by flow cytometry on days 0, 1, 3, and 5 postinfection from the blood of WT and Ccr7−/− mice. (I to M) Protein levels of cytokines and chemokines Ccl2, Ccl7, Ccl4, Cxcl9, and IL-10 in the blood of WT and Ccr7−/− mice at day 0 and at 4 and 8 days postinfection were measured by multiplex ELISA. (N) Virus load was quantified in the blood plasma by quantitative RT-PCR. All data are shown as means ± standard deviations for n = 4 mice per genotype and time point from three independent experiments. *, P < 0.05; **, P < 0.01; ***, P < 0.001.
