BCP treatment inhibits mechanical hiperalgesia during pre-motor phase of EAE. Treatment with (−)-β-caryophyllene (25 or 50 mg/kg, p.o., intermediate lines) or vehicle (0.9% NaCl solution—top line) was administered twice a day and throughout the test period. Naïve group—bottom line. Mechanical hiperalgesia was assessed by reduction in paw withdrawal threshold, to von Frey filament stimulation (0.4 g) at the plantar surface of the right hind paw.
