Lipid analysis of TbPSD parasites after [³H]serine labeling. Trypanosomes were pretreated with myriocin for 30 min and induced with tetracycline for 6 days to down‐regulate TbPSD.

A. Control and TbPSD‐depleted procyclic forms were labeled for 4 h with [³H]serine before lipid extraction.

B. Control cells were labeled with [³H]serine for 4 h (pulse), washed and resuspended in fresh medium without radioactivity for 4 h (chase). Lipids were extracted, separated by one‐dimensional thin layer chromatography and detected using a radioisotope scanner. The scans are representative of at least three independent experiments.
