Poly(I:C)-induced testicular innate antiviral response in vivo. A and B, Expression of inflammatory cytokines and antiviral proteins in vivo. A mixture of poly(I:C) and lipofectamine RNAiMAX was locally injected into one testis of 5-week-old TLR3^−/− mice, whereas lipofectamine RNAiMAX alone was injected into the other testis (control) of the same mice. At 6 hours after injection, total RNA was extracted from the testes, and relative mRNA levels of the cytokines (A) and the antiviral proteins (B) were analyzed by real-time qRT-PCR. C, Induction of antiviral proteins at protein levels in vivo. The testes were injected as described above.
