Probe rates were considerably reduced in the responses simulated with a 10-ms inhibitory input (C) compared to the responses simulated with an inhibitory time course of 4 ms (b). At higher masker-probe delays, SPON model responses had to be convolved with a longer alpha function in order to simulate realistic IC responses to a forward-masking paradigm.
