Estrogen Induces the mRNA Expression of Pck1, Pdk4, and Ptgds in Mouse Liver after Short-Term PPT Treatment

Ovariectomized female C57BL/6 mice were injected sc with 5 mg/kg of PPT, respectively (n = 5 per treatment group). The expression levels of Shp, Stat3, Pck1, Pdk4, and Ptgds were measured by real-time PCR. All expression values are normalized for expression of Hprt and are presented as the mean ± sem. The mean expression of tested genes in animals receiving vehicle treatment was arbitrarily set to 1.0 with all other expression values reported relative to this value. **, P < 0.01; *, P < 0.05 for comparison with vehicle-treated animals.
