Effects of aerial and root extracts on expression of apoptosis-related proteins. Both (A) aerial (B) and root extracts induced all caspases activation in cervical cancer cells. 5 μmol/mL of reversible aldehyde inhibitors, were used to confirm that the observed fluorescence signal in cell population is due to the activity of caspase-like proteases. (C) TNF-α (D) and IFN-γ protein expression is significantly induced in the cells. The expression of TNF-α and IFN-γ in HeLa cells following treatment for 72 h with aqueous aerial or root extracts was determined by ELISA.
