Tests of significance: Criteria
‡A true-positive result for malignancy indicated that IC, FS and histopathological analysis of the specimen was diagnostic of a malignant lesion.
‡A false-positive result for malignancy indicated that a diagnosis of malignancy was given on IC and FS, but the HP turned out to be benign.
‡A true negative result was considered when the diagnosis on IC, FS and HP was benign.
‡A false-negative result was considered when IC and FS showed no malignancy but the final diagnosis turned out to be malignant on HP.
