The red bar at bottom of images represents a 50 nm scale. The images reveal the porous nature of particles. Arrows in panel B point towards RB 'nanoprecipitates' or 'nanocrystals' formed within the GP pores in unsealed GP. The smooth and glistening surface visualized in Panel C, indicates the presence of an alginate layer sealing the drug loaded GP.
