Effects of miR-597 mimic transfection on the proliferation of MDA-MB-231 and SK-BR-3 cells. (A and B) The growth rate was inhibited by the overexpression of FOSL2 in MDA-MB-231 and SK-BR-3 cells. The data were obtained using the MTT assay at 0, 48, 72 and 96 h after transfection. (C and D) miR-597 inhibited the proliferation by impeding the entry of cells into S-phase. The nuclei of cells in S phase were stained with EdU (green), and the others were stained with DAPI (blue); bar, 20 µm. (E and F) miR-597 resulted in more G0/G1-phase cells. The number of cells in different phases was measured by flow cytometry with PI staining, **P<0.01.
