Suppression of the P. gingivalis-induced inflammatory cytokine response in gingival tissues and GMCs by gastric intubation with LG2055. (a) Total RNA was extracted from gingival tissue 1 and 30 days after infection with P. gingivalis, and IL-6 and TNF-α mRNA levels were determined using real-time PCR. (b,c) GMCs (1 × 106/mL) were isolated 1 and 30 days after P. gingivalis infection, and then cultured for 3 days. (b) The culture supernatants were collected and subjected to IL-6- and TNF-α-specific ELISAs. (c) The cultured cells were harvested for RNA isolation and quantification of IL-6 and TNF-α mRNA using real-time PCR.
