Effects of meloxicam on the changes in SOD activity and the levels of MDA, PGE2, cAMP, TNF-α and IL-1β in CUMS rat cortices. (A) The activity of SOD. (B) The content of MDA. (C) The content of PGE2. (D) The concentration of cAMP. (E) The content of TNF-α. (F) The content of IL-1β. NG: normal group. MG: CUMS group. SG: Sertraline group. MDG: Meloxicam (1 mg.kg−1) group. MGG: Meloxicam (3 mg.kg−1) group. Group data shows the changes in SOD activity and the levels of MDA, PGE2, cAMP, TNF-α and IL-1β in CUMS rat cortices. Data are expressed as the mean ± SD in six separate experiments. Compared with the normal group, the activity of SOD and the concentration of cAMP in the CUMS rats significantly decreased, while the contents of MDA, PGE2, TNF-α and IL-1β significantly increased. Compared with those in the CUMS group, the administration of sertraline and meloxicam significantly increased the activity of SOD and the concentration of cAMP, and significantly decreased the contents of MDA, PGE2, TNF-α and IL-1β. *P < 0.05 and **P < 0.01 vs the normal group, respectively. #P < 0.05 and ##P < 0.01 vs the CUMS group, respectively.
