Single-cell behaviour after staining with the Cell Tracer. The panels are as in Fig. 1, but Cells 9, 18 and 22 are marked with a square in Panel (a) to indicate that they eventually join a larger colony and are not traced after that. The predominant behaviour is that similar to that of Cell 4. The microscopy image resolution is 0.96 μm/pixel.
