Fig 2.
Transaxial images from pre- and post-chemoradiotherapy (CRT) 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (FDG-PET/CT) in a patient from the ARC2 study. Considerable changes can be seen from pre-CRT (A) and post-CRT (B). FDG avidity has decreased with a reduction in all of the PET parameters. The pre-CRT tumour region of interest (red) had to be modified on the post-CRT image (green). This is because the patient had developed ascites, which displaced the tumour and the liver. In addition, there was evidence of tumour shrinkage on the CT component of the PET/CT.
