Inhibition of PTEN increases levels of collagen in human TM cells. Human TM cells were treated with VO-OHpic, a potent inhibitor of PTEN at varying concentrations. VO-OHpic at 5 μM caused a nearly 4-fold (N = 3) increase in collagen levels at 48 h. A corresponding increase in the levels of PTEN and phosphorylated PTEN was noted.
