Inhibition of EphA2 decreased spheroid formation.

The effect of the inhibition of EphA2 on cell spheroid formation in MDA-MB-231 cells in the absence (A) or presence (B) of rEGF. Cells were treated with ephrin-A1 or F2-27 in the absence or presence of rEGF. EphA2 was downregulated in MDA-MB-231 cell lines by shRNA (shEphA2 cells); shControl cells are also shown. Photographs show spheroid formation (×40 magnification). Quantification of spheroid areas was measured using ImageJ at day 7, and sizes were compared among experimental groups.
