1HNMR spectra of PVP and NPVP. The peaks at 8.25 and 6.72 ppm were ascribed to the protons at the 2, 6 sites and 3, 5 sites of pyridine ring. After N-alkylation, they shifted to lower magnetic field of 7.68 and 8.91 ppm. Signal at 4.53 ppm was corresponding to the protons of the methylene groups bonded with N atom in the pyridine ring. The peaks from 1.31 to 1.86 ppm came from the aliphatic protons from the PVP backbone, the protons of methylene groups from alkyl bromides. The protons of methyl groups from alkyl bromides were observed in the high field of 0.88 ppm.
