Effects of hyperosmotic exposure on P2X7 protein receptor levels. Stratified human corneal epithelial cells (a) and stratified human conjunctival epithelial cells (b) were treated with 90 and 120 mM NaCl-added media for 24 h. Cell lysates were successively immunoblotted with anti-P2X7 and anti-GAPDH receptor to confirm identical loading. The histograms indicate the levels of full-length and truncated form of P2X7 receptor.
