Table 1.

Pharmacological inhibition of FGFR4 does not improve kidney function or blood pressure in 5/6 nephrectomized rats. Analyses of renal and metabolic parameters as well as blood pressure in 5/6 nephrectomized (Nx) rats that were performed one week before surgery (baseline), four weeks after surgery (pre) and four weeks after initiation of treatment (post). Compared with 5/6Nx rats receiving vehicle solution, impaired renal function, hypertension, and elevated serum FGF23 levels are not significantly changed by delivery of a FGFR4-specific blocking antibody (anti-FGFR4). Values are reported as mean ± SEM; *p < 0.05 when compared to baseline 5/6Nx + vehicle; #p < 0.05 when compared to baseline 5/6Nx + anti-FGFR4.
