Cell viability assay. HBEC-5i cells were treated with HIV-1 Tat at 0, 0.25, 0.5, 1, or 1.25 μg/mL and heat-inactivated Tat for 24 h (a) or FTS at 0, 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, or 50 μmol/L for 12, 24, or 48 h (b, c, d). Cell viability was not affected by 1 μg/mL HIV-1 Tat or 20 μmol/L FTS for 24 h.
