The entry plaza makes extensive use of dimensional stone pavers in pedestrian zones, with accent bands formed with the same stone, finished in a contrasting texture. In the driveway, fields of integrally colored concrete are set off against stone bands to create a sense of arrival and entry appropriate to a hospital of this scale. The canopy overhead is finished with wood fins, while the planar concrete elements supporting the canopy are softened by the introduction of “living wall” style vegetation.
