Constitutive activation of STAT-3 in the liver of HCV-positive patients. Cellular extracts were prepared from liver biopsies of HCV-infected and uninfected (NASH) patients as described in Materials and Methods. Equal amounts of cellular extracts were subjected to SDS-PAGE and electroblotted onto a nitrocellulose membrane. The membrane was then immunoblotted with anti-phospho-STAT-3 antibody.
