Carbonyl C atom has the highest experimental ESP density in bGAL protein backbones.7 Only β atoms of side chains are kept in this figure along with the backbone atoms. Five stretches of polypeptide backbones are displayed, three in β‐strand (A–C) and two in α‐helix (D,E) superimposed onto the experimental ESP map contoured at +7σ (cyan), +5σ (blue), and/or +3σ (salmon).
