The ts phenotype of the sod2Δ mutant strain can be suppressed with antioxidants at 30°C. The ts phenotype of the sod2Δ mutant strain was suppressed at 30°C with the antioxidants ascorbic acid (20 mM) and Mn salen (200 μM). Manganese alone (200 μM, MnCl₂) did not suppress the ts phenotype, suggesting that the antioxidant activity of Mn salen, and not that of Mn alone, resulted in the suppression of the ts phenotype.
