Roots were stored 10 days at 10°C and 90 ± 5% RH, then stored at 4°C, 90 ± 5% RH for 50 days. Abbreviations used for enzymes are defined in Table 1. Abbreviations used for metabolites are defined in Table 3. ATP:ADP ratio is used as a measure of cellular energy status. NADH:NAD+ ratio is used as a measure of cellular redox status. – is used to denote the absence of any significant correlations.
