Data are concentrations of cytokines in picograms (pg/mL) above background elicited by splenocytes in response to antigen-specific stimulation. Values of zero are represented below the x-axis as no response (NR). Vaccination arms are represented as: Control vaccination arm- lightest gray, SGH immunization arm- white, NPP vaccination arm- dark gray, LP immunization arm- black. Control splenocytes were co-cultured with medium + adjuvant alone resulting in cytokine production below 12 pg/mL for all monitored cytokines (data not shown).
