The 2013 American Community Survey was used to determine the number of children younger than 20 years, the percentage of children of Caucasian (white) descent, the percentage of children below the poverty level, and the percentage of male children in each zip code. The 2010–2012 New York State Vital Statistics data from March 2014 was used to determine the rate of premature births, rate of low weight (<2 kg) births, and the neonatal death rate.
