Circular dichroism spectra of nine RNA duplexes containing tC^O. Duplexes are denoted by the bases neighbouring tC^O according to Fig. 1b, and consist of the modified strands GG (black), UG (red), GU (blue), AA (orange), AU (pink), CC (gray), GUUU (purple), GAUU (green) and UUUG (cyan) hybridized to the complementary natural RNA strand. In the insert, the wavelength range is extended to 450 nm.
