Many AtrxFoxg1Cre progenitor cells born at E15.5 never reach the superficial layers of the cortex and the dentate gyrus. Female mice homozygous for the Atrx floxed allele were bred to Foxg1Cre-heterozygous males and were injected with BrdU at E15.5, and newborn pups were sacrificed at P0.5.
