Note that growth on ampicillin was scored using the tat- strain DADE and therefore assesses Sec translocation only. Y indicates growth on 1% SDS, N indicates no growth. Mean M.I.C for growth on ampicillin is given in µg/ml + one standard deviation, n = at least 3.
