VEGFA is a direct target of miR-497 in vitro. (A) miRanda and TargetScan predicted that the 3′-UTR of VEGFA contains a complementary site for the seed region of miR-497. (B) Upregulation of miR-497 decreased the mRNA expression level of VEGFA. (C) Forced expression of miR-497 significantly decreased VEGFA expression at the protein level.
