Reverse transcription quantitative-polymerase chain reaction analyses show that blueberries reduce relative mRNA levels of COX-1 and COX-2 of ovarian cancer in a mouse model. The mice were treated with 0, 2, 4, 8 or 16 mg/ml blueberry juice. The relative mRNA levels of COX-1 and COX-2 were measured subsequent to a 14-day culture. GAPDH was used as an internal control. The data represent the results of 5 independent experiments and are presented as the mean ± standard deviation. *P<0.05 compared with 0 µg/ml blueberry. COX, cyclooxygenase; Control, without transfection or blueberry; 2B, 2 mg blueberry; 4B, 4 mg blueberry; 8B, 8 mg blueberry; 16B, 16 mg blueberry.
