2DE of soluble proteins synthesized in S. meliloti 102F34 Smr grown in LAS medium without (A) or with (B) 1 mM ectoine. Proteins were visualized by staining with Coomassie brilliant blue. Equivalent amounts (200 μg) of crude proteins were separated by 2DE. The proteins spots indicated by arrows were analyzed by MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry and are listed in Table 2.
