PaO2 (mm Hg) 103.73 ± 3.08 104.17 ± 3.44
PaCO2 (mm Hg) 39.54 ± 1.56 42.98 ± 2.92
HCO3− 23.90 ± 1.23 24.60 ± 1.71
pH 7.18 ± 0.01 7.23 ± 0.02
Glucose (mg/dl) 103.73 ± 1.76 107.97 ± 2.69

Arterial blood samples were sampled from the left cardiac ventricle immediately at the end of the 3 h ketamine administration. All measurements were within the normal physiological ranges and no statistical significance was found between the two groups. Data are presented as mean ± S.E.M. (n = 3).
