Poly(I:C) transfection induces the phosphorylation of IRF7 but not IRF3 in MSCs. Treatment of MSCs with Amlexanox, an inhibitor of the protein kinases TBK1 and IKK-ε inhibited the IRF7 activation. The phosphorylation of IRF3 and IRF7 was evaluated by flow cytometry after cell fixation and permeabilization. Representative experiments for BM- and FSK-MSCs are shown but similar results were obtained for other sources. (a) and (c) untreated MSCs (b) and (d) Amlexanox-treated MSCs.
