Platelet adherence and aggregation on HCMV-infected HPAEC. Uninfected and HCMV-infected HPAEC cultures were incubated with blood platelets in the presence or absence of Ca²⁺ and Mg²⁺. Platelet aggregation was observed on HCMV-infected cells in the presence of Ca²⁺ and Mg²⁺ (A) but not in the absence of Ca²⁺ and Mg²⁺ (C).
