DC-SIGN is expressed in the macrophages of plaques and the macrophages of atherosclerotic patients. Human femoral arteries from patients with angiographic atherosclerotic plaques and internal thoracic arteries without plaques were assessed by histological and immunochemical analysis. As a continuity study, the origin of tissues is same as our previous study22. Sections were stained with hematoxylin and eosin or immunofluorescence stains for DC-SIGN, TLR4 and CD68.
