Values represent the mean of 30-min temperature readings (1,800 individual values) for subjects with complete sleep data (n = 24). Temperature was measured at the following time points: (A) the highest 30-min average value before sleep onset, (B) the lowest 30-min average value during sleep, and (C) the first 30-min average value after arousal. Sleep and awakening times were self-reported by each subject in an activity log book. Differences between time points (A − B; A − C; and B − C) were calculated using paired t-test.
