GCs modulate EMT-related proteins; E-cadherin, α-SMA, vimentin and fibronectin by inhibiting the p38/ERK and Snail/Slug signaling pathways, resulting in restrained migration and invasion in the airway epithelium under EMT mediated by TGF-β1.
