Cells were cultured in control media and osteoblast differentiation medium. After 21 days, cells were harvested, freeze-dried, and analyzed as KBr pellets. The absorbance profile of DPSC-ED cultured in osteoblast differentiation medium was most similar to that of calvaria. An increase in the peak at 1,030 cm−1 could be seen when compared to cells in the control medium, signifying accumulation of highly crystalline, matured apatite during osteoblastic differentiation.
