EPO inhibited pro-inflammatory response in M1 macrophages. RAW 264.7 cells and bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMDM) were primed with 1 μg/ml LPS and 20 ng/ml IFN-γ for 24 h. EPO were added at indicated concentrations. Secretion levels of (a) NO, (b) TNF-α, (c) IL-1β, and (d) IL-6 were examined by Griess reaction and ELISA. Experiments were performed in triplicate.
