Acronyms: IDD- Intellectual and developmental disability, aOR-Adjusted odd ratios, AHRQ- Agency for Health Care Research and Quality; CI-confidence interval.

Comorbidity variable is generated using the AHRQ comorbidity software.15,25 Patients are considered to have comorbidity if their discharge records show that they have one more of the 29 types of patient comorbidities identified by AHRQ using the standard method by Elixhauser.15
