(A) DAT immunostaining showed that the general patterning and structure of substantia nigra (SN) and ventral tegmental area (VTA) is similar in wt and DAT-Smo ko mice both at 5 months of age on different levels ranging from rostral to caudal positions. Representative images showed coexpression of TH and and similar immunostaining pattern in WT and DAT-Smo ko mice in ventral midbrain for (B) AADC, (C) Nurr1 and (D) VMAT protein. Scale bar= 100um.
