Schematic representation of KLF6-dependent, platelet-induced tumor cell proliferation. The platelet-induced proliferation of HCC cells requires platelet by the platelet-specific agonist CRP or HCC cells. Activated platelets then secrete granules containing cytokines, such as TGF-β, that promote tumor cell growth and mediate the cell cycle and apoptosis of tumor cells by down-regulation of KLF6 expression.
