High dietary arachidonic acid changed the metabolic fingerprint in zebrafish. Changes are characterised not only by a general change in lipid profiles and eicosanoids, but also by changed metabolites indicating inflammation and lipid peroxidation and changes in the antioxidant status. Arrows indicate the suggestive physiological conditions in the fish. Metabolites to which reference is made are given on the right side. 12-HETE, 12-hydroxy-eicosatetraenoic acid; 5-KETE (5-oxo-ETE), 5-keto-eicosatetraenoic acid (5-oxo-eicosatetraenoic acid); 5-HETE, 5-hydroxy-eicosatetraenoic acid; 5-HEPE, 5-hydroxy-EPA; 4-HNE-glutathione, 4-hydroxy-nonenal-glutathione.
